$1b Worth of Investment Made by IMIDRO in 2014 and 2015
Iranian Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) invested over $1 billion in mines and mineral industries’ sector in 2014 and 2015. It should be noted that the Organization inaugurated mineral projects at the condition that it faced very limited financial resources due to illogical and non-specialized transfers.
Titles and investment volume of each project has been mentioned in the below table.
Roadmap of IMIDRO Exploration Activities:
Iranian Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) is undertaken the development of mines and mineral industries’ sector. Considering the special emphasis of supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his support from mineral sector as substitution of oil in materialization of objectives of resistance economy, the Organization launched new optimal operation and exploration program from reserves of the country since 2014 (during Hope and Prudence Government). The Organization explored more than 2.5 fold of projects in 80 years ago. Generally speaking, IMIDRO enjoys high potentials that can promote role of lines in national economy and also attaining objective without depending on oil revenues.
With having high and diversified mineral potentials and also valuable metallic and nonmetallic reserves, Iran is ranked among top 10 countries in world in a way that the country accounts for approx. seven percent of world’s total mineral reserves. In addition, the country enjoys at least eight large mines in international level. Accordingly, development of these rich resources will increase competition power of the country in international level.
Considering its developmental mission in the country, IMIDRO has designed and implemented widespread and vast exploratory programs in order to redress historical backwardness of exploration in line with attaining the following objectives:
